World Travel Market, the leading global event for the travel industry, has organized a high-profile airline program with senior executives from British Airways, Air China, IATA, and Sky Team all speaking.
Due to the airline program growing popularity, 2 of the 3 sessions have been moved to the larger Platuim Suites rooms, which holds around 250 people.
In previous years, the program, organized by aviation expert John Strickland, took place in the smaller North Gallery Rooms at ExCeL, which only holds a maximum of 180 people.
The program is headlined by British Airways Chief Executive Keith Williams. The Big Talk with Keith Williams is part of the WTM Business Day program on Thursday, November 10, taking place in Platinum Suites 4 at 3:30 pm.
It kicks off on Tuesday, November 8 with Strickland discussing consolidation and alliances in aviation with Sky Team Managing Director Michael Wisbrun in the session “Airline–New Industry Groupings,” which takes place in North Gallery Rooms 5 & 6 at 11:00 pm.
On Wednesday, November 9, Strickland reviews the aviation sector in the emerging markets of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa in “New World Order: The Airline Industry in the New Growth Markets of the 21st Century.”
Oneworld Alliance Vice-President of Corporate Communications Michael Blunt, IATA regional Vice-President Rafael Schvartzmann, and Air China Vice President of North America Zhihang Chi offer expert analysis on the potential of the world’s emerging markets.
Furthermore, the “ACC Airline Conference: Aircraft Wet Leasing” will also take place at WTM on Thursday at 2:00 pm in Platinum Suite 3. The invitation-only event will review the general market outlook with the views of aircraft manufacturers, airlines, airports, and supporting organizations.
Strickland said: “The WTM 2011 airline program is one of the best-ever with great headline speakers covering some of the key topics in the sector. Keith Williams will give a fascinating insight into the future of British Airways following the merger with Iberia.
“Furthermore, ‘New World Order: The Airline Industry in the New Growth Markets of the 21st Century’ is not to be missed as it previews the opportunities of arguably the industry’s biggest growth markets.
Reed Travel Exhibitions Director World Travel Market Simon Press added: “I’m delighted with the content of this year’s airline program; it will be informative and help delegates with business decisions post WTM 2011.”
