World’s tallest moving observation tower to open

British Airways i360 opens ahead of pride celebrations
The world’s tallest moving observation tower, which moves up and down, not side to side, opens in Brighton on August 4 with views from 138 metres above the beach.
The British Airways i360 attraction opens in advance of the popular Brighton Pride celebrations (August 5-7), and tickets are now on sale.
Designed by the same architect team as the London Eye, a glass viewing pod will glide up and down the tower, carrying up to 200 people at a time. ‘Flights’ last 20 minutes by day and 30 minutes after 18:00, when the pod bar opens. Ticket prices start from £13.50 (€16.20) for adults and £6.75 for kids (under 4s free).
The attraction is also the world’s most slender tower, with a diameter of 3.9 metres at its widest point. Many locals campaigned – in vain – against its construction.
