World sports tourism summit to debut in London

Presentations, debates and networking during WTM
This year’s World Travel Market London (November 7-9) will feature a new Global Sport Tourism Summit, in association with sports tourism company W2 Consulting, it has been revealed.
The new summit will take place on the first day of the exhibition and will shed light on the rising global sport tourism sector and provide a platform for destinations, events, academics and respected professionals in the field to discuss best practice and future trends.
Following a summer of prestigious sporting events, including the European football championships in France and the Olympics in Rio, the summit will feature keynote speakers from across the world to debate this growing tourism industry segment.
The Global Sport Tourism Summit at WTM will have three strands: the Sport Tourism Summit, featuring presentations from key figures, events, destinations and experts, along with networking opportunities; Sport Tourism Data, which will see the launch of the Annual Sport Tourism Monitor 2016; and the Global Sport Tourism Awards at WTM London, award presentations honouring excellence in a range of categories including destinations, marketing, events and charities.
