Wizz Air, the largest budget airline in the Central and Eastern Europe, from 22 April is opening flights from Riga International Airport to Stavanger (Norway).

Flights on the route Riga-Stavanger-Riga will take place twice a week – on Wednesdays and Sundays – on the aircraft Airbus A320.

The Latvian national carrier airBaltic also operates direct flights to Stavanger.

In honour of the first flight, a special cake was made and decorated with an oil derrick because Stavanger is considered to be the centre of the Norwegian oil industry and is often called “the Oil Capital”.
