Waterville Valley, NH: This fall, the Pemigewasset Chapter of Trout Unlimited invites you to join them in welcoming the Wild and Scenic Film Festival to Waterville Valley.

Explore award winning films with conservation heroine, Marion Stoddart (The Work of 1000), and enjoy a banquet with the entertainment of Willem Lange, author and Emmy Nominated radio/TV personality perhaps most known from public television’s Windows to the Wild.

This unique event is coming to the Waterville Valley Resort Conference Center on Friday evening and Saturday, September 14th & 15th.  All proceeds will go to support outdoor environmental education for elementary through high school students.

In addition to the films, special guests, and banquet, there will be a range of activities to partake in on Saturday including: fly tying and fly casting, an informative nature hike and a children’s storytime.

There will also be two Grand Raffles, one a Fishing Prize Package and the other a Gift Certificate to Wild Meadow Canoes and Kayaks on Winnipesaukee, each individually valued at $1000.  Tickets for either prize are $20 and are limited to the first 100 takers per raffle.

The Pemigewasset Chapter of Trout Unlimited, formed in 2002, is a relatively new chapter of the internationally recognized organization, Trout Unlimited, founded in 1959.  With nearly 100 members, Pemi TU is the smallest New Hampshire chapter but also among the most active.  Engaging in conservation and outreach programs, they participate in implementing Trout in the Classroom, a national program, in schools throughout the region and sponsor students to attend outdoor camps such as Barry Conservation Camps and NH Kids’ Trout Camp – a youth fly fishing camp held in Pittsburg, NH each year.  Pemi TU also instructs student groups from Outdoor Clubs to the Boy Scouts in fly tying and fly fishing.

The Wild and Scenic Film Festival – the largest of its kind – takes viewers on a journey from their own backyards to the corners of the Earth through award-winning film making and rich storytelling.  The festival, now in its 11th year, seeks to entertain and inspire viewers with visually stunning stories of nature, community and the human spirit.
