Oman as a holiday destination has rather stayed under the radar until recently as people have recognized its hidden jewels.
Traditionally, for many people, Oman has consisted of a week stay at Easter or Christmas just outside Muscat in one of the many beach resorts in the bays. There certainly are many wonderful resorts with a plethora of choice of swimming pools, beaches and activities for children. But there is so much more to see in Oman, and as people’s desire to experience adventure grows, Oman has so much to offer which will delight adults and enthrall children.
Weekend a La Carte has offered Oman as a destination for several years, but wanted to offer something new. A 4 night taster of Oman which shared the best nature, wildlife and landscape that Oman has to offer; something for those who were short of time or who wanted to bolt on an adventure to their Muscat relaxation.
The 4 night Oman Express includes a Dolphin spotting boat trip, an overnight in an air-conditioned luxury tent in Wahiba Sands in the Desert, Watching Nesting Turtles on the beach, Visiting stunning Wadis and Oasis and swimming in the spectacular limestone Bimah sinkhole. Dune Bashing and a visit to a Bedouin family. are also featured and throughout the break Weekend a La clients have their own private vehicle and guide.
Oct-Jan is the core time to visit as it is a good balance of pleasant temperatures with a good chance of seeing the Nesting Turtles, but the season starts in late Sept to early April. For those whose main reason for travelling is to see the Nesting Turtles the core season is June to Sept, but it will get hot !
Abigail Street the Marketing director of www.weekendalacarte.co.uk comments that “We always try to offer one “Once in a Lifetime experience” in any break we develop. In Oman there 3-4 of them – it really is a spectacular destination”
