VisitEngland reaches out to trade in Denmark

Top MICE buyers from Denmark on tour of NW England

VisitEngland, that country’s national tourist board, says it is collaborating with Congress Consulting Management Group (CCMG) Denmark to take seven top MICE buyers on a “spectacular” tour of the north-west of England this August.

The group, coming from a variety of sectors such as pharmaceuticals and banking, will experience the sights and sounds of Manchester and Liverpool. The tourist board describes the cities as “two business key tourism destinations easily accessible from Denmark”, with daily SAS flights connecting Copenhagen to Manchester International Airport.

VisitEngland, along with VisitManchester and the Liverpool Convention Bureau have arranged the program, which will “showcase the best business tourism offer in the two cities” including visits to Manchester Central Conference Centre, Arena and Convention Centre Liverpool, the Imperial War Museum North, the Theatre of Dreams – Manchester United’s football stadium Old Trafford – and “Jan Mølby’s old stomping ground of Anfield”.

The aim of the visit is to promote Manchester and Liverpool as “vibrant and exciting conference destinations with a lot to offer the Danish corporate market”. Since the opening of the VisitEngland Northern Europe office in 2012, Denmark has been seen as a key corporate meetings market for the region.
