Best Western trains front-desk employees with VR
A new training initiative sees Best Western Hotels & Resorts partnering with virtual training platform Mursion, where professionals can practice their interpersonal skills. Simulations are being created in particular for front-desk staff.
Best Western is the first hotel company to use VR for training employees in dealing with guests. The project is part of the company’s I Care, Every Guest Every Time initiative and is already in use at several properties.
The chain claims that the 60-minute sessions have brought about a boost in guest satisfaction.
Tech firms say that the service-based hotel industry can benefit from this technology because employees are usually unprepared for the unexpected, which could lead to poor guest experiences, lost bookings and negative online reviews.
