Sightseers will be able to walk above thundering water
A panoramic viewing platform over one of Norway’s most beautiful natural attractions could soon become reality. Planning permission for the platform overlooking the Vøringsfoss waterfall in southern Norway has been given by the local district council.
“This will be a world-class attraction, that’s something I feel confident about,” said Anved Johan Tveit, the local mayor who backs the project. “I hope that work can begin as early as this autumn.”
Tourists already enjoy viewing the country’s most famous waterfall, which plunges 150 meters, either from the Fossli Hotel or the Vøringsfoss Kafetera on the other side of the gorge.
When the platform designed by Norwegian architect Carl-Viggo Hølmebakk is constructed, sightseers will be able to walk above the thundering water.
