Val Gardena: Skiing amid World Heritage

Benvenuti in Val Gardena! A ski vacation in one of Italy’s most popular and beautiful ski areas, Val Gardena is guaranteed snow, sunny days, and perfect slopes for all levels. On top of that, the ski area offers incredible, scenic views with its unique location in the middle of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Dolomites.

Val Gardena is a real winter wonderland with ideal conditions for skiers and snowboarders. 500 km slopes and state of the art lift facilities connect the area to 1220 km of slopes in the 12 surrounding valleys. For the adventurous, the area boasts a funpark with jumps and half pipes where experts share their tips and tricks twice a week. Ski schools are of course also ready to teach all levels of skiers and snowboarders on the slopes.

To fully enjoy the beauty of the area, take advantage of the 133 km well-prepared cross-country ski runs. There are options for all levels and both forest and mountain runs are featured. Enjoy lunch or a warm drink in one of the mountain huts peppered throughout the landscape creating that idyllic feel. To spend some time off the skis, take a beginner’s course in climbing, join mountain guides and follow winter wildlife tracks, or join an evening snowshoe excursion with dinner served in an isolated mountain hut.

Val Gardena has a proven record of being a prime ski area. In December 2014, Val Gardena hosted the FIS Ski World Cup 2014. The world’s biggest website for ski resorts, skiresort.info, named Val Gardena the best ski area in Italy in 2014, and Val Gardena also won the “World Ski Awards” in 2014.
