Airline continues march to be one of world’s biggest carriers
Turkish Airlines is continuing its march towards being one of the world’s biggest carriers as it prepares to take delivery of a record number of Boeing aircraft this year. The airline now says it will take delivery of an additional six 777-300ERs and 20 Next-Generation 737-800s in 2016.
“Turkish Airlines is one of the world’s leading airlines and an established global network carrier. The airline has achieved this accolade through various investments in its fleet, which subsequently now stands at over 310 and growing,” said chief investment and technology officer Ahmet Bolat.
“The delivery of a further 26 Boeing aircraft this year, which will form a substantial part of our long-haul and short-haul fleets, are integral to Turkish Airlines’ continued growth.”
He added: “We look forward to introducing the new planes on our domestic and international network.”
