Tui to drop First Choice and Thomson, sell LateRooms

Overarching Tui brand to be phased in over coming years
Tui Group has confirmed it will drop the First Choice and Thomson brands and sell off the LateRooms Group as it continues to restructure the business.
To replace the brands to be dropped, the overarching Tui brand will gradually be phased in over the next couple of years, joint chief executive Peter Long said.
“As a world-leading tourism business we will build on our global brand, and we will do this by migrating our brand in a phased and measured way to one brand: the Tui brand,” he said. “We will start with some of the smaller markets, initially Holland and France, and then on to Belgium, the Nordics and the UK. And we intend to fund the migration to one brand through operational efficiencies and further additional revenues.”
The news came on the day that Tui Group released its results for the first half of its financial year, cutting its underlying loss (ebita) by 20.2% to €272.6 million, with revenues up 7.3% to €6.9 billion.
