Travelgenio accelerates global expansion strategies using Sabre’s technology

Leading global OTA also makes significant investments to personalise the travel experience

Leading European online travel agency (OTA) Travelgenio has taken an important step forward in its global expansion plans by signing a new agreement with global technology provider Sabre Corporation (NASDAQ: SABR).

The technology leader will provide Travelgenio with a wide range of shopping and booking travel technology solutions including superior low fare search, workflow efficiency tools and data and business intelligence, to support the European travel specialist’s vision to deliver a more relevant and personalised shopping experience for customers.

Travelgenio, with presence in 32 countries worldwide and offices in Madrid, Buenos Aires, Montevideo and Sydney, currently operates as a smart search engine for travel. With Sabre’s technology, it will now be able to create and deliver highly personalized search results based on a traveller’s budget, profile and preferred vacation themes.

According to a recent traveller poll released by Sabre, today’s travellers spend an average of 3.5 hours searching for the perfect flight – often longer than the flight itself. While these results highlight the incredible array of flight options available to travellers, it also underscores the dilemma of finding the right fare at the right price.

In addition to supporting its expansion plans, Travelgenio also sought a technology provider to streamline processes, improve productivity and reduce costs via an end-to-end travel solution. Travelgenio will integrate Sabre’s Bargain Finder Max, the leading low fare search service used by leading online agencies globally. It will also look to boost operational capabilities and transform its business via an integrated and automated solutions suite, including Sabre’s Post Booking Automation tools, which automates some ticketing processes and enhances travellers’ booking experience to meet expectations.
