Argument continues over retirement conditions
Pilots at Lufthansa will hold a three-day strike this week in an argument with the airline over retirement conditions, Reuters reports. This means more disruption after a series of recent strikes at German airports.
The pilots’ strike will run from 00:00 on April 2 until 23:59 on April 4. It will likely cause the cancellation of hundreds of flights. Lufthansa is reported to be considering its legal options.
It called on the pilots to return to negotiations and said that while it still hoped to reach an agreement, it was working to minimise the impact of the strike on customers.
“We regret that during April 2-4 we will probably not be able to bring our customers home or to their destination as planned,” the airline said in a statement. The strike will also affect subsidiary Germanwings.
