Danes are the happiest people in the world according to the OECD. They now also want their tourists to be the world’s happiest. Small Danish Hotels is launching an international campaign and new name of the group of hotels.
Danish inns, hotels, castles and manor houses are launching an international campaign to sell ‘moments of happiness’ to tourists, under the name ‘Small Danish Hotels’. “We want to give tourists and guests ‘moments of happiness’ wrapped up in good hospitality and personal service,” says Jørgen Christensen, General Manager of Small Danish Hotels former Danske Kroer & Hoteller.
Small Danish hotels comprises 99 small, hand-picked three and four star inns, hotels, castles and manor houses in Denmark which are extremely charming, warm and welcoming. “We want to be known even better for good hospitality and personal services, as these are some of the things that differentiate us from all other players in the market,” says Jørgen Christensen.
Small Danish Hotels includes several types of inns, hotels, castles and manor houses within the categories of Danish Inns, City Hotels, Classic Hotels and Castles & Manor Houses. What they all have in common is good hospitality, and the fact that they are privately owned and operated. “Our hotels can give tourists and visitors something they cannot find anywhere else, and our new name and communication strategy reflect this,” says Jørgen Christensen.
Following extensive market analysis, Small Danish Hotels are now ready to reach out to even more foreign tourists. “’Small’ and ‘Danish’ sum up everything we stand for – warmth, intimacy and good hospitality. When tourists hear the word ‘Danish’ they immediately think of design and fairy tales, herring, aquavit, open sandwiches, bacon and Danish pastry. They think of Lilliput and the world’s happiest people, as Danes are the happiest people in the world according to the OECD. We want to have the world’s happiest tourists and guests. “We want to give them ‘moments of happiness’ wrapped up in good hospitality and personal service. ‘Moments of happiness’ is about the little things that happen on a holiday which make it a happy one. Memories you will never forget. Stories you will continue to retell when you return home. This is the message we are now trying to communicate to tourists,” says Jørgen Christensen.
