Passenger says he’s carrying a bomb in his luggage
Terminal two of Stockholm’s Arlanda airport was cordoned off on Sunday morning after a passenger said he was carrying a bomb in his luggage. Immediately after the alarm was raised at 11:14, the terminal was evacuated.
Arriving flights were diverted to terminal five and departures to Paris, London and Amsterdam were affected.
“It was a passenger at check-in who said he had a bomb in his bag,” Charlotte Periasamy of the airport authority Swedavia told the news agency TT.
Police investigated the suspicious bag and took the man for questioning. A police spokesperson told the newspaper Aftonbladet: “There is no indication there is any substance to the statement, but we have to be safe than sorry.”
