Company points to growing demand for Riga-Stockholm

The Estonian ferry company Tallink intends to satisfy what it calls rapidly growing demand on its Riga-Stockholm line by deploying the recently purchased ferry M/S Isabella from Viking Line.
The number of passengers on Riga-Stockholm increased by 7.6% in the first quarter of 2013, the company says. It was the only Tallink line that grew during the period. Overall, Tallink’s passengers numbers fell by 5%, to 1.89m passengers.
A company spokeswoman pointed to “large potential on the Riga-Stockholm route”, so that “we are constantly updating the vessels we use there.” Tallink has been operating Riga-Stockholm since 2006.
