The number of passengers at Swedavia’s airports increased eight per cent in April compared to the same period in 2013. A total of 2,953,000 passengers arrived at or departed from one of the Group’s ten airports, which is an increase of 208,000.
During April, about 2,953,000 passengers flew to or from one of Swedavia’s airports. Passenger volume was thus eight per cent higher compared to the same month last year. Measured in passenger numbers, that corresponds to an increase of 208,000. The total number of international passengers was 1.8 million, an increase of a full eleven per cent compared to the same month last year. Domestic travel showed an increase of two per cent to 1,125,000 passengers during the same period.
“We noted an especially high level of international travel for the month, which was also characterised by a continued strong trend in air travel. We likewise foresee a positive trend in international travel going forward, with the ever expanding range of non-stop destinations from our airports,” says Torborg Chetkovich, chief executive of Swedavia.
So far in 2014, passenger volume at Swedavia’s airports is up eight per cent at 10,700,000 passengers. The number of international passengers from January to April increased nine per cent to 6.4 million. The number of domestic passengers so far this year is also up seven per cent at 4.3 million.
