Swedavia, through its subsidiary Swedavia Real Estate, today signed an agreement with Bockasjö AB for the continued development of logistics properties at Göteborg Landvetter Airport. The agreement involves the formation of a joint venture and, in the first phase, the preparation of land for the construction of logistics properties totalling about 100,000 square metres.
Property development at Swedavia is carried out through its subsidiary Swedavia Real Estate AB. This development is aimed at creating value for the company and thus enabling the growth of operations and more passengers at its airports. An agreement was signed today with the logistics and property developer Bockasjö AB concerning a large-scale joint venture to develop Landvetter Logistic Park at Göteborg Landvetter Airport.
The agreement entails the two parties together developing the area around Göteborg Landvetter Airport for logistics operations. In the first phase, 170,000 square metres of land will be prepared for the construction of about 100,000 square metres of turn-key ready logistics properties for tenants in logistics operations but also other companies that want larger premises for warehousing and offices.

“Based on goods flows and customer demand, we believe there is significant potential for the development of highly efficient logistics and distribution facilities here. The agreement with Swedavia gives us the opportunity, together with Swedavia, to set up a logistic park in a dynamic area that is easy to access – immediately adjacent to one of the largest airports in the Nordic countries, the largest harbour in northern Europe and Sweden’s national route 40, which is the main artery between Gothenburg and Stockholm,” says Joakim Hedin, chief executive of Bockasjö AB.

The development plan for the area is expected to win legal approval before the summer of 2015, and when that occurs, extensive groundwork for the entire area will begin. Tenants are expected to move into the first property during the spring of 2017.
