The number of passengers at Swedavia’s airports increased in January by eight per cent compared to the same month in 2013, with the number rising by almost 200,000 to 2.4 million passengers. Growth was on the same scale for both domestic and international traffic.
In January, 2.4 million passengers flew to or from one of Swedavia’s airports. The number of passengers was thus up eight per cent compared to the same period last year. The number of international passengers was 1.5 million and the number of domestic passengers was 900,000. The growth in passenger volume was on the same scale for both domestic and international traffic.
“The investments that different airlines are making are well received by passengers, and our hope is that this will lead to additional non-stop routes and greater frequencies. Meanwhile, we must develop our airports so that the growing number of passengers experience attractive settings combined with efficient solutions,” says Torborg Chetkovich, chief executive of Swedavia.
The number of landings in scheduled and charter operations at Swedavia’s airports in January was 15,300, an increase of three per cent compared to the same month last year.
