Strike to hit thousands of Finnair passengers

General strike in Finland to cause delays into weekend
Finnair warns that a planned strike on Friday will cause delays, schedule changes and flight cancellations. It is likely that there will be no air traffic in Finland between 11:00 and 13:00 on Friday.
Employee unions plan a nationwide walkout against government cuts to sick leave benefits, holiday pay and Sunday pay supplements.
Cabin crew members of the Finnish Air Traffic Controllers’ Association and the Finnish Aviation Union confirmed they would take part, while baggage handling, customer service and other airline services could also be involved. Public transport as a whole will be affected.
Press reports say that around 13 Finnair flights will be cancelled, but delays could last into the weekend. Fridays are typically the airline’s busiest day of the week.
