Union could urge 1,300 employees to walk out
A deadline for a possible strike by Norwegian’s employees has been set. Norway’s Parat Union says it will urge more than 1,300 of the airline’s employees to walk out if the carrier refuses to agree to a joint collective bargaining agreement for cabin crew by April 30.
“The cabin crew may be taken out on strike on April 30,” Hans-Erik Skjæggerud, the head of the union, told the online business newspaper E24. “We have not received approval for continued joint collective bargaining agreement for the cabin crew.”
Last month Norwegian transferred its cabin crew to Cabin Services Norway and Cabin Services Denmark, two companies the airline established in 2013.
