Stage set for WTM Brexit discussion


Discussion to investigate effects on travel and tourism
This year’s World Travel Market in London will host a high-profile panel session of senior executives to discuss the implications of Brexit on the UK’s inbound and outbound travel.
The World Travel Leaders session called ‘Brexit – How Will It Change UK Travel, Inbound and Outbound?’ will take place on Monday, November 7 from 4pm.
The managing director of Thomas Cook UK & Ireland, Chris Mottershead, will contribute global experience to the debate from nearly 25 years in the travel business, explaining how Brexit is affecting the outbound tour operating business.
The chief executives of JacTravel, which works with more than 140,000 hotel partners, and Indian outbound travel giant Cox & Kings will also share their views. Analysis of Brexit’s impact on travel from the airline industry perspective will be given by the head of Monarch Group, Andrew Swaffield.
The session will also comprise of market analysis and predictions from Euromonitor International. The research group will look at visitor numbers for arrivals into and out of the UK, before and after Brexit, and present forecasts for the future.
