Airbus A320-200s to fly European and domestic routes
From the beginning of 2013, SAS will insert the first of a future fleet of Airbus A320-200 aircraft on selected European routes out of Copenhagen as well as on domestic routes to Aalborg and Aarhus. The planes are being taken from airlines in India (IndiGo) and Spain (the now bankrupt Spanair) and range in age between six and 12 years old.
Future Airbus A320 routes from CPH will include Amsterdam, Athens, Brussels, Bucharest, Dublin, Frankfurt, Geneva, Gothenburg, London Heathrow, Madrid, Malaga, Manchester, Milan-Malpensa, Moscow-Sheremetyevo, Munich, Nice, Oslo, Palma Mallorca, Paris CDG, Rome, St Petersburg, Stavanger, Stockholm and Zurich, the vast majority from January or February.
Also in connection with the phasing out of older MD80 aircraft, SAS will take delivery from 2016 of the brand new Airbus A320neo aircraft, flying nine of these from the base in Copenhagen.
