Online booking can make unique round-the-world trip
Global airline alliance SkyTeam has launched an online booking tool for customers looking to book a round-the-world pass on any of its 19 member airlines.
Available at Skyteam.com, the alliance says that the tool offers customers “a seamless planning and booking experience with cost-effective fares and access to 1,024 destinations worldwide”.
The SkyTeam Round the World bookings, available via laptop, desktop computers and tablet devices, offer a choice of a minimum of three to a maximum 15 stops.
There are four fare levels, ranging from 26,000 to 38,000 miles, automatically calculated by the tool as an itinerary is created.
For example, a sample itinerary of six stops and 26424 miles could be Paris – Buenos Aires – Lima – Mexico City – Shanghai – Hanoi – Moscow – Paris.
“The booking tool has been designed to simplify even the most complex itinerary, providing convenience and a pleasant, efficient experience for our passengers,” said Mauro Oretti, SkyTeam’s vice president sales & marketing.
SkyTeam says its network includes several unique destinations and a number of routes not offered by other alliances. These include non-stop services between Latin America and Asia, or Korea and Africa. The network includes 148 destinations in Greater China, as well as nine airlines that serve Australia and New Zealand.
