SkyTeam formally opens Sydney Exclusive lounge


SkyTeam, the global airline alliance, has formally opened its new Exclusive Lounge at Sydney Airport. The alliance’s presence in the Australian market has been growing steadily and now offers over 80 weekly departures from Sydney International Airport operated by China Airlines, China Eastern, China Southern, Delta Air Lines, Garuda Indonesia, Korean Air and Vietnam Airlines.

The third exclusive lounge in SkyTeam’s global network has been designed in SkyTeam’s trademark sleek and modern style.  It offers a luxurious and spacious environment to relax pre-flight with sweeping airport views and the iconic ‘green botanical Wall’ adding a breath of fresh air.  Key features and amenities include :

•Seating capacity for 140 guests, with electrical outlets available by each seat for personal comfort and ease while charging personal electronic devices.

•Connectivity & Business amenities, with access to WIFI and business area fully equipped with printing facilities.

•Complimentary refreshments -Champagne and Wine bar carefully selected to meet tastes and choices of the guests. In addition to a wide assortment of different foods and beverages.

•Wellness center including showers and 4 full body massage chairs

•Dedicated TV room

“It is our duty to add value to our members’ businesses and with seven SkyTeam carriers present in Australia; we look to provide enhanced benefits through our customer initiatives such as this new lounge,” said Michael Wisbrun, SkyTeam’s Managing Director at the opening ceremony. “It is a great way to kick off our 15th anniversary year, with a new lounge delivering benefits for customers and synergies for members. We look forward expanding our service of exclusive lounges to Dubai, Beijing and Hong Kong by the end of the year.”

The lounge is available to Elite Plus, First and Business Class passengers flying on any of the seven SkyTeam airlines serving the airport. SkyTeam Lounge will be managed by lounge industry leader, Plaza Premium Lounge Management Limited on behalf of the alliance.

Other Lounge Services

In addition to the SkyTeam Exclusive lounges in London’s Heathrow Airport and Istanbul’s Atatürk Airport, passengers also have access to the over 620 lounges offered by the 20 members worldwide.

Recently the alliance launched a Lounge finder tool available on www.skyteam.comand on SkyTeam App that enables customers locate any of the lounges globally with ease. Amenities, location and hours of operations are some of the information the tool provides to the passengers.

A day rate for SkyTeam’s Exclusive Lounge in Sydney is available to non-SkyTeam customers after the departure of the last SkyTeam flight from the airport.
