Singapore Airlines double winner at awards


Danish Travel Awards presented in Copenhagen last night

Only five players in the travel industry held on to their Danish Travel Awards from last year when the 19 prizes for 2012 were presented on Tuesday evening at the Circus Building in Copenhagen. The awards, organised by the Danish travel trade magazine Stand By, were attended by 350 specially invited people. Several thousand employees in the Danish travel industry were consulted on who to give the prizes to.
Five of last year’s winners maintained their top places from last year. SAS and Singapore Airlines were both double winners – SAS for best domestic airline and best charter airline, Singapore Airlines for best intercontinental airline and best business class on intercontinental flights.

Best passenger shipping between Denmark and abroad: DFDS Seaways
Best cruise company with ships below 1,000 passengers: Silversea
Best cruise shipping with ships over 1,000 guests: Celebrity Cruises
Best low-cost airline: Danish Air Transport
Best charter company: SAS
Best domestic airline in Denmark: SAS
Best European airline: Sun Air
Best intercontinental airline: Singapore Airlines
Best business class on intercontinental flights: Singapore Airlines
Best charter travel: Falk Lauritsen Travel
Best holiday travel: FDM Travel
Best business travel agency: American Express
Best holiday hotel in Denmark: Hilton Copenhagen Airport
Best business travel hotel in Denmark: Tivoli Hotel & Congress Centre
Best hotel chain in Denmark: Brøchner Hotels
Best foreign tourist board in Denmark: US Virgin Islands
