Plans to expand long-haul LCC‘s fleet to 14 aircraft by 2016
In addition to routes already announced to Sydney and the Gold Coast, Singapore Airlines’ new long-haul low-cost carrier Scoot announced today that it will launch flights to the north-eastern Chinese city of Tianjin this coming August. This is the new airline’s first destination in China direct from Singapore, with flights there to be operated four times a week. It is expected that Scoot will announce more destinations in China soon.
To begin with, the new carrier will operate four Boeing 777-200s, but there are plans to expand the fleet to 14 aircraft by 2016.
