While the new Oslo Airport will not open until Thursday, 27 April 2017, we can already now offer you a preview of the new shopping options. The new additions include a significantly improved selection of sportswear, a delicatessen, a pharmacy and several fashion concepts that will carry many of the world’s most popular brands.
In all, 10 operators will be responsible for 21 shops, up from the current 12. Øyvind Hasaas, Managing Director of Oslo Lufthavn AS, is pleased with the outcome of the long and thorough tendering process:
“The winners submitted the best tenders and we are confident that our many thousands of travellers are going to be pleased,” says Hasaas.
A new “Æra” at Oslo Airport
The shopping choices include ARG (Airport Retail Group)’s new fashion concept Æra, which will have a total of five shops. Two of the shops are for women, two for men, while Æra Active is a sports shop selling leading and well-known sports brands.
“We have emphasised broad and varied shopping opportunities to suit all target groups. Having a comprehensive approach has been important to us and we are proud of what we will offer when we open the doors in 2017,” says Hasaas.
Norwegian delicacy and pharmacy
In addition to Æra, the airport will welcome a delicatessen shop “Fish&Berries” from SSP (Select Service Partner), where you can purchase Norwegian-produced foods such as cheese, dairy products, jams, gravlax, cured meats and other treats.
Apotek1 will open a pharmacy in the arrivals hall and you will be able to buy the latest in travel goods at Rolling Luggage. TRN (Travel Retail Norway)’s Travel Value Fashion shop will continue, and a second shop will open in the new pier. Tanum will be the new bookstore from 1 January 2017 and Thune Jewelry & Watches will offer jewellery and watches.
“We know that there has been demand for a pharmacy in the airport and we are pleased that we now have this in place. We believe our strength lies in the mix of all the shops that will open, and together with the significant ramping up of restaurants and convenience stores, we are confident that travellers will be even more pleased.”
In addition, Ting will open an interior and gift shop, while Way Nor will operate souvenir shops. The supplier of electronic products will not be decided until the first quarter of 2016, at the earliest.
