Route by franchise partner of BA to launch on October 27

The Danish airline Sun Air, which since 1996 has flown as a franchise partner of British Airways, will launch its second route to London City Airport on October 27. The carrier says that the route between Hamburg and London is opening in cooperation with the German business community.

Sun-Air has been successfully flying between London City and Zurich for six years and it is the same product it will be offering from Hamburg. The route will be flown with a Dornier 328 with seating for 32 passengers and full meals on board, with 10 weekly return flights from Monday to Friday.

Hamburg-London will complement both BA and Sun-Air routes. A ticket from London City, for example, can be combined with BA flights between Hamburg and London Heathrow, providing more flexibility.

“Our strategy is to offer direct routes in cooperation with business and that’s the strategy we follow with the opening of the route from Hamburg to London City,” Sun-Air CEO Niels Sundberg said. “We are very pleased to collaborate with industry and are already experiencing great interest and support from both the German and British businessmen.”
