Scandic in Nordic deal for Italian restaurants

Scandic Hotels reveals first Jamie’s Italian in Nordics

In the latest stage in their ongoing partnership, Scandic Hotels and the chef Jamie Oliver have announced the opening of the first Jamie’s Italian restaurant in the Nordic region.

Scandic will be the exclusive operating partner of Jamie’s Italian in the region, with the first restaurant due to open in Stockholm in autumn 2014.

Jamie’s Italian has its niche in creating “neighbourhood venues inspired by the Italian table, where people relax, share and enjoy each other’s company”. The casual-dining restaurants are designed to be “affordable and accessible, a place where everyone is welcome and feels comfortable”.

“We’ve worked with the guys at Scandic for nearly five years now across a number of projects and I’m incredibly excited to be teaming up with them to launch Jamie’s Italian into the Nordic region,” says Oliver.

Jamie’s Italian opened its first restaurant in the UK in 2008 and has since opened in countries like Australia, Russia, Singapore and Turkey. Scandic is not giving further details except that the first restaurant in Scandinavia will open in Stockholm’s city centre.
