SAS updates app for Apple Watch

Apple Watch is scheduled to begin shipping this week
SAS has been quick to update its app to support functionality on the Apple Watch, which is scheduled to begin shipping later this week. The move will enable the airline’s customers to make use of the latest technology as soon as the device becomes available.
Since Apple announced it would be launching its new watch during the spring, SAS has been developing an update to adapt its app to fit it. In practical terms, the update means that activities carried out on a phone will also be displayed on the Apple Watch. For example, users will be able to see which gate their plane is departing from as well as the flight departure time.
The updated SAS app is now available from the App Store, Google Play and the Windows Phone Store. Passengers can use it to do things like book tickets, check in and see what the weather’s like at their destination. March 1 saw the launch of a partnership between SAS and the Readly app, with a greater focus on digital newspapers. Earlier this year, the airline won the Best Mobile Travel App category at the Business Travel Awards 2015.
