Austin hosts world’s largest tech, film and music fest
SAS says it will be the first airline to fly direct from Scandinavia to Austin, Texas, for SXSW (South by Southwest), the world’s largest tech, film and music festival, from March 8 to 18.
In total, four round trips between Stockholm and Texas will take place, making it easier to get to and from the technology and culture festival, which attracts large numbers of people from around the world.
The airline adds it can also help with hotel reservations and meeting rooms and may even open a temporary SAS lounge in Texas during the festival.
“SAS has noted increasing interest from all of the Scandinavian countries to participate, so we want to make it easier for our travellers to go to the festival. Many of our customers are innovative, creative and deeply involved in digitalisation, which is in line with what we do at SAS,” says the airline’s press chief Fredrik Henriksson.
