Airline to bring back both routes from Copenhagen
SAS’s route offensive looks set to continue in 2013 after opening a total of 36 new routes in 2012. It is currently putting the finishing touches to its summer traffic schedules, which come into effect on 31 March 2013. So far, it has leaked out that Budapest and Prague will be new destinations from Copenhagen. SAS previously flew to these popular European cities but closed Copenhagen-Budapest in autumn 2006 and Copenhagen-Prague in autumn 2008.
Since February, when Malev went bankrupt, only Norwegian has been flying to the Hungarian capital.
SAS is expected to fly six times a week, the same as Norwegian. And since May, with Cimber Sterling’s bankruptcy, Norwegian and CSA Czech Airlines have been operating to the Czech capital. SAS also plans six frequencies to Prague.
