“Forward booking levels are higher, premium bookings are weaker”
As SAS prepares to raise capacity by 5% for the summer season, launching 28 new routes, it has reported a 7.9% increase in passenger traffic for the month of April. The loss-making airline added that its passenger load factor rose by 1.2 percentage points to 75.5%.
“The response to market campaigns is still good and forward booking levels are above last year’s level, but premium bookings are weaker on certain routes,” a statement from the airline read. “Overall, the market growth continues to be good, but remains unpredictable due to added capacity in certain markets, risk in the global economy and continued high jet fuel prices.”
