All scheduled services are a target from Thursday
A strike by SAS pilots in Norway is scheduled for Thursday, affecting all scheduled services, according to the union Parat.
Jens Lippestad, who is leading the discussions for the Norwegian pilots, said that SAS had shown a lack of willingness to negotiate with the pilots.
“SAS could have avoided the strike if they had given us the same conditions as our colleagues in Denmark and Sweden, with national adjustments,” he said.
“This is very provocative. We cannot accept this divide-and-rule tactic by SAS.”
However, according to Torbjørn Lothe, director of SAS negotiator NHO Luftfart, insisted that pilots had been offered the same wage increase as other groups.
Lippestad argues that pilots need a stronger labour agreement and more predictability in their schedules, particularly at weekends.
“We are committed to the success of the company and have therefore made moderate demands. All we need is a salary raise in line with others, a couple of weekends free every month and secure jobs.”
