Airline eliminates third-party lounge access
SAS premium passengers will have to rethink their airport lounge strategy. The airline has revealed that it will eliminate access to many third-party lounges and fast track for members of its frequent flyer program Euro Bonus. But almost all lounges will be accessible via Priority Pass.
From the new year, SAS Business, SAS Plus, and EuroBonus Gold and Diamond members will continue to access SAS and Star Alliance Lounges, but getting into independently operated lounges will not be possible.
SAS explains it is eliminating third-party lounge access to expand and improve its own lounges. A list of the lounges affected can be seen here.
Most of these lounges are, however, in the Priority Pass network, a pass that gives access to more than 900 lounges in 120 countries – and all but four of the eliminated lounges (Bucharest, Keflavik, Linkoping, Split).
