Technical problem with all CRJ900 aircraft
A technical inspection of SAS’s fleet of CRJ900 aircraft has forced it to cancel a number of flights during Sunday and Monday. As of this morning, 17 departures and 22 arrivals at Copenhagen Airport were not flying.
All of the affected flights operate under the subsidiary Cimber. Axed departures include flights to London, Berlin, Munich, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Zurich, Helsinki, Stavanger, Aarhus, Warsaw, Wroclaw and Aberdeen.
Arrivals cancelled include London, Berlin, Munich, Brussels, Zurich, Düsseldorf, Oslo, Stavanger, Helsinki, Aarhus, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Tallinn, Palanga, Warsaw, Wroclaw and Aberdeen.
“A technical inspection of the aircraft type Bombardier CRJ900 operating in Cimber will unfortunately cause some cancellations to and from Copenhagen during May 22-23,” SAS explained.
“We kindly ask our travellers to check the status of the flight before leaving to the airport. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause for our travellers.”
Media reports say that the CRJ900 planes have a problem with their landing gear, pressing SAS into a sudden mass technical inspection.
