SAS and Amadeus partner on revenue management

More than 20 SAS employees to work at revenue centre

Amadeus has announced a long-term, strategic partnership with SAS, a deal in which the airline will migrate to the GDS’s new revenue management solution. The airlines will move from their in-house Origin & Destination Revenue Management System (ODRMS) to Amadeus’ new solution by early 2015, joining eight airlines that are already using the integrated revenue management and passenger services system.
Later in June, SAS and Wideröe will become the launch partners for Amadeus’ Altéa Revenue Management solution, which is now incorporating full origin and destination management capability.
At the same time, Amadeus says it will open a revenue management “Centre of Competence” in Copenhagen. More than 20 SAS employees will join Amadeus at the centre.
“Revenue management is an increasingly important area of focus for airlines, and one which directly impacts their bottom line,” Julia Sattel, senior vice president for airline IT at Amadeus, said.
