Russians spend average SEK 1,100 (€128) a day

Not many Russian tourists visit Sweden every year, accounting for a little over 2% of the 16.7 million incoming visitors last year. But they spend more than anyone else. Russian tourists spend an average of around SEK 1,100 (€128) a day, according to a report by the Agency for Economic and Regional Growth (Tillväxtverket), based on interviews with 20,000 visitors. Russians are also characterised by being the most likely to spend a night on a cruise ship (33%).
Russian tourists are the least likely to stay with friends or family (14%) during their visit to Sweden, while visitors from Poland are the most likely to stay with someone they know (44%). Visitors from Denmark are the least likely to stay in a hotel – although this is probably because many of them make quick one-day trips.
