Rolls Royce wins $1 billion SAS order

Trent engines to power A350s and A330s

SAS already operates four Trent 700-powered A330 aircraft. But now the UK company Rolls Royce that builds the engines has announced that it has won a contract to supply engines and maintenance to 12 more of the airline‘s Airbus planes in a deal worth $1 billion at list prices. Thes eare the same planes announced this week in an MOU with Airbus.
Rolls Royce is the world’s second-biggest maker of aircraft engines, with the US group General Electric in first place. The Trent XWBs will be the engines for eight Airbus A350-900 aircraft, while Trent 700s will power four A330-300s.
