RIU Hotels and Resorts has reopened the Riu Lupita hotel after an extensive renovation in which the chain invested a total of 5.5 million dollars. This hotel, now converted to a 24-Hour All-Inclusive establishment, opened its doors for the first time as a RIU hotel in 2004. It is located just two kilometres from the centre of Playa del Carmen and its famous Fifth Avenue, with its charming restaurants and shops.
The hotel, located in Playa del Carmen, reopens as a 24-Hour All-Inclusive establishment after a 5.5 million dollar renovation
The Riu Lupita, a hotel with extremely loyal customers who return year after year, has undergone a complete renovation that is noticeable as soon as you arrive at the resort. The palapa has been replaced by a completely new lobby, open and modern, where our guests are now greeted by light and colour. In addition, in its 300 rooms, the bathrooms have been enlarged and completely redone, replacing the bathtub with a comfortable walk-in shower.
This renovation also extends to the Tequila poolside bar, and the gastronomic selection of the hotel has picked up a new option: the Dante Italian restaurant, a snack bar by day and a restaurant with an a la carte menu by night. With the Mexican restaurant María Bonita, the Adelita buffet, and the Cozumel steakhouse, there are now four gastronomic alternatives for guests to choose from at the Riu Lupita. The Cozumel restaurant is the snack bar of the Riu Lupita’s beach club, located next to the Riu Palace Riviera Maya, which also offers a pool for guests who want to enjoy the day facing the beach. In addition, with the hottest months of the Caribbean in mind, the Mexican restaurant María Bonita is no longer totally open and now has air conditioning as well as newer, more contemporary, and fresher furniture.
Along with the new facilities, guests can still enjoy the traditional offer of sports and activities led by the fantastic hotel recreation team. In addition to the entertainment programme, guests will find a multitude of activities like tennis, ping-pong, gym workouts, basketball, volleyball, and water sports like windsurfing, catamaraning, kayaking, bodyboarding, and snorkelling, and many more on the beach. To get to the beach with greater ease, the hotel provides free transportation every hour. At night, live shows and the Pacha discotheque, where the best rhythms for dancing are guaranteed, take the spotlight.
