Riga International Airport would like to inform you that the European Commission (EC) has withdrawn restrictions that had been applied on Dublin Airport in mid-May.
This means that at the Riga Airport the additional security requirements for transit passengers from Dublin have been withdrawn.
Please be reminded that due to the EC’s communication of 16 May 2012 regarding the incompliance of Dublin Airport’s security measures with the EC’s basic standard, all passengers arriving from Dublin Airport at the Riga International Airport had to be treated as passengers arriving from a third country. Therefore transit passengers arriving from Dublin and their hand luggage, as well as their checked-in luggage were undergoing security checks. This procedure was not applied on passengers and their luggage if Riga was their final destination.
