Responsible tourism seminar on the sidelines of World Travel Market in London will hear from Seychelles Minister St.Ange


The Pacific Area Travel Writers Association (PATWA) is again this year organizing an international seminar on the sidelines of World Travel Market (WTM) of London. This year the international seminar which remains a support program of the World Travel Market will be on “Responsible Tourism – New Agenda” and it will be held on November 5, 2014 at 1430 hours at the New Press Centre, Platinum Suite Room 5, Excel.

Mr. Sagar Ahluwalia, the Secretary General of PATWA, has confirmed that Taleb Rifai, the Secretary General, World Tourism Organization (UNWTO); Shripad Yesso Naik, the Minister of Tourism&Culture, Government of India; Alain St. Ange, the Minister of Tourism and Culture, Seychelles; and Eglantina Gjermeni, the Minister of Urban Development&Tourism, Albania will join Indian state ministers at this international seminar which will also hear a presentation by Air India. R. V. Deshpande, Minister of Tourism, Government of Karnataka, India; Dilip Parulekar, Minister of Tourism, Government of Goa, India; Ashok Chandra Panda, Minister of Tourism, Government of Odisha, India; and Raghwendra Kumar Singh, MD – Tourism, Govt. of Madhya Pradesh, India have all been confirmed as state ministers who will help to showcase India as “Incredible India” at this international seminar.

Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture, said that he was honored to have been chosen as a speaker at this important seminar addressing “Responsible Tourism, the New Agenda.”

“Seychelles has its tourism industry as the pillar of its economy. This is why we have observed a responsible tourism approach. Today, we speak about a new agenda of our own that is brought out as part of our very own brand of tourism we aptly call the ‘Seychelles Brand’ where we advocate the need to have the people of the country participate in the development of their industry,” said Minister Alain St.Ange of the Seychelles.
