Reopening of Danish hotel delayed

Rebuilding of prestigious Danish holiday hotel delayed
The process of reopening Denmark’s famous beach hotel Svinkløv Badehotel in north Jutland is proving more time-consuming than previously planned.
The reconstruction of the property, which burned down last September, will take longer than expected as the people behind the project do not want to feel pressurised by deadlines.
Steen Royberg, chairman of the foundation supporting the iconic hotel, explains that a decision was made to slow down proceedings to ensure the restoration goes ahead correctly.
Instead of the earlier reopening date of 2018, possibly in time for Easter, “we have decided the hotel will open for the 2019 season,” he said. “We want to restore the hotel and not compromise on planning or reconstruction due to the pressure of time.”
