Paxport is the latest key travel tech provider to be certified by Lufthansa as part of the airline’s NDC Direct Distribution strategy.
Lufthansa is taking industry leadership by actively diversifying their distribution portfolio.
The recently published report “The Future of Airline Distribution” (Atmosphere Research Group), argues that airlines will generally move towards more customer-centric dynamic distribution and merchandising technology.
The driving forces are lower distribution costs, time-to-market for high-margin ancillary services and personalization of the offer from the travel providers to fit customer needs.
“The agreement with Paxport is another milestone in our long-term distribution strategy to provide our customers with more personalized and dynamically created offers by improving and expanding the communication between airlines, partners and technology providers with additional services and enriched information, using NDC capable solutions,” says Mario Maier, Head of Direct Distribution Solutions & Standards at Lufthansa Group Hub Airlines.
Paxport Commercial Director, Mats Torebrandt, adds: “Complementing existing solutions with more dynamic, market focused distribution alternatives is regarded as a strong trend in the industry.
“This is an attractive opportunity for travel resellers to provide more detailed information and personalized services and content, as more airlines follow Lufthansa’s example,” Torebrandt concludes.
