Estonian airline tried to change overall trend
Estonian Air carried 55,445 passengers in July, an increase of 9.1% compared to the same month the previous year. The Estonian national carrier operated 967 flights during the month, up 12.1%.
The development is a change from the overall downward trend. In the first seven months, Estonian Air carried 314,626 passengers, a fall of 3.5% year-on-year, and operated 6225 flights, down 4%.
“During the last two months the number of passengers has shown an upward trend that has been influenced by high demand for our summer destinations, an increased number of flights and good performance of charter flights,” said Indrek Randveer, the carrier’s CCO.
“Our summer destinations have been very well received by customers,” he added. “In July we experienced better development than expected on our Nice, Paris, Berlin, Brussels, Moscow and Trondheim routes. At the same time passenger volumes on the Kiev route continued to decrease due to the uncertain situation in Ukraine.”
