Children think fight is part of an act for pirate ride
Two men have been arrested at Legoland Windsor in the UK after around 10 parents became involved in a mass brawl, according to press reports. The fight happened during a long queue for the theme park’s Jolly Rocker swingboat ride.
Some children thought the fight was part of an act for the pirate-themed ride. But parents, including mothers, joined in, with one even grabbing a metal pole to use as a weapon, press reports said.
The ride was closed for 20 minutes following the brawl. One onlooker told the newspaper The Sun, “It was vicious. All hell broke loose. It was frightening for innocent adults forced to watch, not to mention the kids.”
It appears to have been the long queues that were testing parents’ tempers. Legoland reportedly said it had banned for life those involved in the fight. They also want them banned from its parent company’s attractions, including Madame Tussauds and Alton Towers.
A spokesman said: “An altercation occurred between a large family group and a male guest. The large group of males and their families were removed from the park.” On Twitter it added: “There was an altercation between a family group and a male guest, not a mass brawl. It was resolved promptly by our security.”
