Carrier wins international award for best inflight connectivity
Presented in Long Beach, California, the Passenger Choice Awards 2012 for the category “Best Inflight Connectivity and Communications” has been given to Norwegian. The airline competed in the award against major international airlines such as Virgin America, Emirates, Oman Air and Gulf Air. Norwegian commented that the award proves that its commitment to giving passengers free internet has been noticed beyond Scandinavia’s borders. It is the passengers themselves who named the winner in this category. All of the airline’s fleet of 46 Boeing 737-800s will get WiFi during the course of 2013.
Norwegian was also nominated in the category “Best in Region: Europe”, but Virgin Atlantic scooped that prize.
