SkyTrax also again names Norwegian “Europe’s best low cost airline”
The travelling public has named Norwegian the “world’s best low-cost long-haul airline” in the latest SkyTrax World Airline Awards, as well as “best low-cost airline in Europe” for the third consecutive year. Norwegian’s chief executive Bjørn Kjos and four crewmembers accepted the awards at the Paris Air Show.
However, Norwegian lost out in the category World’s Best Low-Cost Airline to AirAsia, and Best Airline in Northern Europe to Finnair.
The annual awards evaluate more than 200 airlines worldwide. Passengers judge everything from the experience during check-in, boarding, seat comfort and cleanliness in the cabin to food, drink, entertainment and service.
“It is truly rewarding to see how much our brand new planes, expansive route network, low fares and great service are appreciated. However, this would not be possible without all the fantastic people working at Norwegian. Each and every day they do their utmost to take care of our passengers,” Kjos commented.
The other nominees in the Best Low-Cost Airline in Europe category were EasyJet and Germanwings, and in the Best Low-Cost Long-Haul Airline category they were JetStar and AirAsiaX.
